We have successfully completed week two of our endeavor into the mens small group. This week we had three new guys show up: Keith, Jason, and Nathan. Brad and Jordan didn’t attend but Corbin came back. Conversation was good. Got to hear a little about Jason’s vacation to Puerto Rico. We talked about cars, jobs, football, and discussed a summer time backpacking trip. Neil was sick and stayed home. Having four guys overseeing this is great in situations like that. Even with a leader gone, we are able to function like a well oiled machine and remain consistent in our meetings.
Today I was reminded that we need to plan far enough ahead in order to be most effective in our ministry. Thank you Neil. Therefore, I have created a Google Calendar for us all see the details of upcoming events, and plan future ones. As you will see, Neil will be starting us off in our rotation of leading “Bible With The Bros.” We still need to decide on a meal for that night, so post some ideas in the comments below.
Pray with me this week for a desire to rise up in the men our age to know God more and for them to begin to seek after Him. Also, that we are strengthened to be able to lead and disciple them.
Keep you nose in the Word guys and I’ll talk to you later,
i'm digging the blog. and it sounds like things are going well. i like the thought that we need to start planning things in advance. i believe it is important that we put together a schedule on leading bible studies and if at all possible start looking at months that are gonna have 5 fridays this year and see if we can't start planning some of our 5th friday events.
ReplyDeletei'm putting together the bible study for next friday right now. when i finish with my outline i'd like to type it up and send the whole thing out to you guys so that you can start studying and preparing. what would be the best way to do that? i can email a microsoft word file or pdf file to everyone. if that would work. if it would be easier i can email it to myself and print it at the church and give it to you all thursday at Access. let me know what would be easiest.
well be encouraged that what we are doing will effect the hearts of the people involved and that we are going to grow through this experience as well.
be blessed my brothers,
Neil
